Abstract
Methods for detecting high molecular mass proteins directly in a biological tissue section by MALDI mass spectrometry.
The problem addressed is a practical ceiling: on-tissue MALDI detection falls off sharply above roughly 30 kDa, so a large part of the proteome is invisible in a classical imaging experiment.

Context
Complement to the matrix work: once deposition is homogeneous, the remaining limit is the accessible mass range. Rémi Longuespée went on to work on the imaging of high molecular weight proteins.
